Sinus Filters
Sinusoidal filters are fitted to the output side of a variable speed drive to cure a number of problems such as high dV/dt, high levels of audible noise, premature motor failure, excessive RFI or to nuisance tripping
CNW 933 Sinus Filters
................................................................................
Sinusoidal filters are used for overcoming numerous problems associated with long cable runs betwen an inverter drive and a motor. The filter reduces dV/dt with associated peak voltages and currents, to a benign level. The asymmetric voltage and current wave-forms produced by pulse width modulation, are converted back almost to a pure sine wave, which helps to reduce RFI and often removes the need for a screened cable. There are also motor noise, temperature and mechanical stress reduction benefits from using a sinusoidal filter |
