Frequency Controllers for Vibratory Feeders

Switch mode technology is used in REO digital controllers to provide a variable frequency output. This has a number of advantages; the feeder does not have to be mechanically tuned, low or high frequencies can be used for products that are difficult to handle at 50Hz and the feeder remains tuned whether it is connected to a 50Hz or 60Hz supply. The current output waveform from these controllers is virtually a sine wave and so very little noise is generated. Constant amplitude control and resonant frequency search can be selected from the standard program, providing an accelerometer is used to provide feedback.

REOVIB MFS 168

The REOVIB MFS 168 series of variable frequency regulators is specially designed for maintaining constant feed rate under various load conditions. The units produce a highly stable output frequency that is adjustable in 0.1 Hz increments.
Manual “tuning” the mechanical feed system is significantly reduced. With the sinusoidal output, the feeder runs quietly and ensures gentle product handling. Settings are adjusted by using a touch panel and an integrated digital display. The feed rate setpoint can be adjusted externally in several ways, including the use of 0…10 V or 0(4)…20 mA signals. One set of user parameters can be stored and recalled. The unit is also available with integrated track control and amplitude feedback.

The REOVIB MFS 268 series of variable-frequency regulators are specially designed for controlling vibratory feeders. The units produce a highly stable output frequency that is adjustable in 0.1 Hz increments. Manual “tuning” time of the mechanical feed-system is significantly reduced. The sinusoidal output means that the feeder runs quietly and provides gentle product handling characteristics. Settings are adjusted by using a touch-panel and an integrated digital display. The feed rate set-point can be adjusted in several ways, including the use of 0 – 10V or 0(4) – 20 mA signals. User settings can be stored and recalled. There is a current limit setting that is used to protect the electromagnetic coil against overloads. The frequency range “window” can be used to limit the adjustment band available to the user. Track sensing, and constant amplitude are integrated within the unit.The MFS 268 is available in models rated for 3A, 12A and 16A and can be equiped with either profibus or RS232 communication ports.
